ICON beer will debut at the Illinois vs. Kansas exhibition game on Sunday, October 29
Since inception in November 2022, ICON has been working to find new, creative ways to generate financial support for NIL efforts to benefit Fighting Illini student-athletes. Beginning Sunday, Oct. 29 at the Illinois men’s basketball exhibition vs. Kansas, Illini fans can now support NIL efforts by drinking beer. ICON will officially launch the production of a branded American light lager.
To support fundraising efforts for Maui fire victims, ICON has committed to donate back their share of proceeds from the sale of the beer at Sunday’s exhibition game to the Hawaii Community Foundation.
ICON has partnered with Gray Duck Brewing to create an Illini-inspired, “ICONIC” American Light lager, perfect for gameday. ICON will receive 20% of the revenues from the sale of the beer, which will be passed on directly to Fighting Illini student-athletes. The more ICON beer is purchased, the greater NIL opportunities ICON can create for Illini student-athletes.
The beer will be available for sale at State Farm Center, Memorial Stadium and all Illinois athletic facilities that sell alcohol. In addition to the new ICONIC brew, ICON plans to roll out a vodka product in the coming weeks. Both will eventually be sold in select bars, restaurants, and grocery stores in the local Champaign-Urbana area.
ICON also offers ICON for Illini memberships. The membership program provides tangible and experiential benefits at each level of giving. Memberships start as low as $25 a month at the Green Street level.
